John Rutter's Requiem
April 27 and 28, 2013
On Saturday, April 27 at St. Margaret Mary Church and on Sunday, April 28 at the new Bishop McDevitt High School, Sylvan Chorale presented its inaugural concerts. Our 90 voice chorus presented John Rutter’s Requiem, with Laurice Simmons Kennel as soprano soloist. Our concert also included songs by The Children’s Choir of Lancaster; the Bishop McDevitt High School Concert Choir; Meditation from “Thais” by concertmaster, John Eaken accompanied by Alice Bish; solos by Laurice Simmons Kennel and “O Magnum Mysterium” by Lauridsen presented by the Sylvan Chorale. The Sylvan Chorale was conducted by Joseph Smith and accompanied by the John Eaken Orchestra.
